Day 1/Leonardo

  • Vinci Highlights: Birth House of Leonardo, about 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) from the town Vinci + The Leonardo Museum in Vinci.
  • Uffizi Gallery, Florence This is one of the most famous museums of paintings and sculpture in the world. Its collection of Primitive and Renaissance paintings comprises several universally acclaimed masterpieces of all time.

Day 2/Michelangelo

Florence

  • Casa Buonarroti The building was a property owned by (but never occupied by) the sculptor Michelangelo, which he left to his nephew, Lionardo. The house was converted into a museum dedicated to the artist by his great nephew, Michelangelo Buonarroti the Younger. Today it’s a Museum.
  • Basilica di San Lorenzo – Highlights of Michelangelo: Biblioteca Laurenziana/The Laurentian Library (In program if opened), Segrestia Nuova/New Sacristy, begun in 1520 by Michelangelo, who also designed the de’ Medici tombs within.

Day 3/Michelangelo

Florence

  • Galleria dell’Accademia or Accademia Gallery, is most famous for its sculptures by the great Renaissance artist, Michelangelo. The main halls also offers visitors works by great Italian artists such as Sandro Botticelli, Domenico Ghirlandaio, Pontormo, to name just a few of the painters.
  • Il Bargello – The most important museum of the Renaissance Sculpture in Florence. Masterpieces by Michelangelo: Bacchus, Pitti Tondo (or Madonna and Child).
  • Basilica Santa Croce/The Basilica of the Holy Cross is the burial place of some of the most illustrious Italians, such as Leon Battista Alberti, Michelangelo, Galileo Galilei, Machiavelli, Ugo Foscolo and Rossini.
